As business processes and storage needs change, Kardex Remstar’s Vertical Lift Module Kardex Shuttle features modular construction that allows the location, height and configuration to be easily modified.
To maximize storage density within the unit, the VLM combines both hardware and controls using dynamic storage allocation upon putaway, measuring the height of each tray to the nearest inch to determine the best storage position.
The machine can be equipped with several access points to link work zones together and maximize productivity by receiving materials on one level and extracting in a different level.
For improved picking, the machine’s intelligent tray storage feature automatically tracks the number of times specific trays are accessed by the operator to store those most frequently accessed closest to the opening.
To boost order picking accuracy, the Vertical Lift Module Kardex Shuttle can be equipped with pick-to-light technologies such as a light pointer or Display LED-Navigator to highlight the correct picking location.
